Forum: movies Subject: Unable to upload 4GB .ISO file via new HTTP interface

http://www.archive.org/details/Cracker2009-05-16-Erinstock-Video

I'm having a heck of time getting the DVD .iso file to upload using the new HTTP interface. The file is over 4GB and I've tried three times to let it complete. But all that the archive winds up with is a 377 MB file, and that's not even close to complete. Since the file is over 2GB, I have to use the "Add" then "Upload" commands by right-clicking on the directory structure on the left side of the page. I am able to use that method to upload smaller files, but not the .iso image I am attempting.

I have a lot of experience with uploading to the Live Music Archive, but have only posted a few items in the Open Source Audio and Video areas, and never with the new HTTP interface.

Is there any way to get the FTP access again? When I go to modify files it takes me right to the "SHARE" page aka the HTTP file manager.

ooh, we like cracker 8-)

ok, so there were *multiple* issues with large files (even though i tested it to work perfectly before) posting to our servers.

i put some fixes in yesterday and today and confirmed a 7.6G upload today.
all servers will have the fix about an hour from now.

i've updated the server your item lives on now, manually.
would you mind trying one more time and see how it goes?

i promise to be responsive to any forum feedback.

thanks for your patience and your report.
sorry for the frustration!

There appears to be a 4.4GB ISO disc image on the page now! NICE! I will confirm that it works once I hear that someone has downloaded it successfully.

YAY!
thanks for your patience!
we haven't had tooo many huge files uploaded with the HTTP interface yet, so it's *very* helpful to know it worked for you, a user in the field.

I just downloaded the ISO image, and it plays fine on my DVD player software. I think we can say that the uploader worked fine on a 4GB + file.
